Session Descriptions:

Hatha Yoga: We will begin each morning with a Hatha Yoga class. Class will be held outdoors on the Ashram’s beautiful property (weather permitting).

Cooking Class: Participants will learn how to cook a nutritious and delicious vegetarian Indian meal each day. Each meal will then be served for all to enjoy at lunch.

The Path of Love: Bhakti Yoga is the path of devotion. In Bhakti Yoga, everything is but a manifestation of the Divine and all else is meaningless, including the ego.

The Path of Selfless Service: Karma Yoga is the path of action and selfless service, or serving without attachment to the results of the action. The practice of Karma Yoga prepares one for the reception of knowledge of the Self.

The Path of Knowledge: Gyana Yoga is the path of wisdom. The Gyana Yogi constantly discriminates between the unreal and the Real, the not-Self and the Self.

Bhuta Shuddi: The yoga practice of bhuta shuddhi combines visualization, pranayama, and mantra repetition. This practice purifies the basic elements of the body and their corresponding chakras.

Practical Applications of Yoga Philosophy: In this interactive session, we will discuss personal stories and challenges of applying specific yoga philosophies in real life (such as yamas and nyamas).

Taittriya Upanishad Discourse: Each day there will be a lecture and discussion on the Taittiriya Upanishad.
