OM PRAACHI DIGGANIR-ADHIPATI, RASITO RAKSHITA-ADITYA-ISHVA .
TEBHYO NMO-ADHIPATI-BHYO-NMO,
NMO RAKSHITRI-BHYO NM ISHU-BHYO NM EBHYO ASTOO .
YO-ASMAAN DVESHTI YAM VAYAM DVISHAM TAM VO JAMBHE DADHMAA

In all the directions, God ( OM ) alone protects the peoples and bestows life. His protective powers present everywhere like rays of the sun. To that omnipresent God and His powers, we bow again and again. He is judicious and punishes the guilty. None should take justice in one’s own hands. All must trust on the justices of Lord, for He is the Lord of justice ( Dharamraj ). Everyone is treated alike and judiciously in His dominion.

ॐ रितंश्चसत्याश्च अभीदधात्तपसो-अध्यजायत I
ततो रात्र्यजायत ततः समुद्रो अर्णवा II १ II

ॐ समुद्रा दर्न्वाधि  संवत्सरो  अजायत  I
अहोरात्रानी  विदधत विश्वस्य मिषतो  ‘वशी’  II  २  II

ॐ सूरय्याचन्द्रमसौ धाता यथा पूर्वं अकल्पात I
दिवं च पृथ्वीं  च अंतरिक्षमथो स्वः   II  ३  II

Transliteration:

OM RITANGCH SATYANGCHABHIDDHAATTPASOADHAYA

Rishi Atharvana         Yajurveda  36.12

Meaning; Oh God, Your form is divine, You are in the form of Light. Whatever resources and wealth, etc.  we have by Your grace, all that may be blissful to us, that should suffice our needs and enhance comforts, peace and prosperity.

ऋषि : विश्वामित्र यजुर्वेद : ३४.४

O Lord! The immortal mind by which actions of the past, present and future come into form, and which is at the helm of seven functions (saptahotri yajna ) respiration, sight, hearing, speech, taste, touch and walking (all actions of a person are inspired by mind ), such mind of mine must be of pure thoughts.

ॐ यत्प्रज्ञानमुत चेतो धृतिश्च , यत ज्योतिर्न्तर्म्रितम I
यस्मान्न ऋते किंचन कर्म क्रियते , तन्मे मनः शिवसंकल्पमस्तु II

OM YATPRAGYANMUT CHETO DHRITISHCH, YAT JYOTIRNTARMRITAM
YASMAANN RITE KINCHAN KARM KRIYATE, TANME MANAH SHIVSANKALPMASYU

Oh God! The mind is the source of wisdom, consciousness and fortitude in human beings; it is ageless, immortal, in the form of light and no work is possible without it. O Lord, purify such mind of mine, pious thoughts should evolve in it always.

ॐ येन कर्माण्यपसो मनीषिनो,
यज्ञे क्रिन्वंती विदथेशु धीराः I
यद्पूर्व यक्षमन्तः प्रजानां ,
तन्मे मनः शिवसंकल्पमस्तु II

OM YEN KARMANYA-APSO MANEESHINO,
YAJNE KRIN-VANTI VIDTHESHU DHEERA I
YAT-POORVE YAKSH-MANTAH PRAJA-NAAM,
TANME MANAH SHIV-SANKALPAM-ASTU II

Oh God! The mind by which dutiful persevering Yogis always remain devoted to ‘ yajnas’ and auspicious scientific actions: that mind having the highest qualities, nature and actions, dwells in the heart of all humans like a God. O Lord, such mind of mine should be of pure thoughts.

ॐ ये त्रिश्प्तः परियन्ति  विश्वा रूपाणि विभ्र्तः I
वाचस्पतिर्बला तेषाम तन्वो अद्य दधातु मे II

Oh God, you created this creation with twenty one elements*.  By them alone countless forms came into being and by your strength they are existing everywhere in the universe. The same elements constitute our body as well. O Lord! May these elements keep us strong, and their quality should remain intact as it is. Let us strive to keep these pure and do nothing to pollute them in any way.

* 21 Elements:
5 Senses of knowledge: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, skin.
5 Organs of physical functions: mouth, hands, feet, rectum, genitals.
5 Chief elements: earth, water, air, fire, ether.
5 Objects of senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, touch.
1 Soul (Self)

ॐ यज्जाग्रतो दूरमुदैति दैवं, तदु सुप्तस्य तथैवैति .
दूरंगमं ज्योतिषां ज्योतिरेकं, तन्मे मनः शिवसंकल्पमस्तु .

Om Yajjagrato Doormudaiti Daivam , Tadu Suptasya Tathaivaiti.
Doorangamam Jyotishaam Jyotirekam, Tanmay Mna Shiv-Sankalapamastu.

O God! The mind of man flees fast and far away in awakened state. It acts the same way during sleep as well.
It is the chief among all senses; such mind should be of pure thoughts.

ॐ भद्रं कर्णेभिः शृणुयाम देवा,
भद्रं पश्येमाक्षिभिर्यजत्राह १
स्थिर्रैरान्गैह्स्तुश्तुवान्
सस्तानूभी ,
व्यशेमही देवहितं यदायुः

Om Bhadram Karnebhih Shrunuyama Devaha,
Bhadram Pashye-makshbhi-ryajatraha
Sthirai-rnagai-stushtvaam-sastanoobhi,
Rvyashemahhi devhitam ydaayuh.

O God, may we hear with our ears what is auspicious,
May we see with our eyes what is auspicious,
May our whole body be healthy and diseaseless,
May we always keep the Five Elements, which are the basis of our life, clean and pure.

om bhūr bhuvah svah
tat savitur varenyam
bhargo devasya dhīmahi
dhiyo yo nah pracodayāt

Meaning: Om, the Parbrahm or Supreme Soul (God) pervades the three worlds – the Earth (bhu), the space (bhuvah) and beyond the space (svah) where exists nothing but God alone in His purest form. That God is in the form of infinite light, which is beyond comparison. Let us meditate on that divine light of the Supreme Soul. Its meditation will lead us to God realization.

Poetry:
Three worlds you know,
certainly these come to sight;
The bhu, bhuva and svah,
shine by His limitless light.

Bhu is this Earth,
we all dwell in this place;
Bhuva is the universe,
svah is beyond the space.

God pervades all,
His infinite light is all over;
They behold that light,
to Him alone who adore.

Behold His immense light,
it purifies the intelligence;
Vedas call Him Ritambhra (Supreme wisdom),
that intelligence who attains.

Gayatri sums up the Vedic wisdom,
Om is the soul of Gayatri, wise discrens;
When Om sets into life-breaths,
never to the world one returns.
